Salvage the warped board. Skip the open jointer blades. Let your planer do what a jointer can't do safely.
A twisted, bowed, or cupped board doesn't have to become kindling. Rock it across an open jointer and you're gambling fingers on a board that won't sit still. This sled ends the gamble — it cradles the board at exactly the points it needs support, holds it dead steady, and lets your planer flatten one face safely. Flip it, run it through normally, and you've got two flat, parallel faces from stock that started anything but flat.
